Guest guest
>Now that measles are no longer seen in great numbers due to the MMR >vaccines, there is more often cases of something that is an atypical form of >measles known today as " Fifth's Disease " or " Roseola " ... really?? that's what they are? my oldest 2 boys have had them----they are different aren't they? i can't recall. my second child had 5ths when i was pregnant, my ob told me it was a parvo virus. >These disease >were very seldom seen when I was a child in the '50's.. It is now quite >natural and seen with great frequency today ... we took my oldest to the pedi when he had roseola, we had no clue about what it could be. neither did he! had our poor little guy subjected to a blood test b/c he could come up with nothing else. it was an internet friend who told me about roseola. sure enough. to add insult to injury, this pedi had been in practice for a long time--i had seen him when i was around 11 or 12, so it was about 13 yrs later i took my son to him. after that, we never saw him again. if he was the only pedi available in the practice of 4, we waited! it really ticked me off that he didn't know what he was seeing. tami
