Dear Suz,

You can wait till later and she will probably get the disease at some other time... It would be best to have your children experience the disease during the ages that they are still being breast fed.

When I was 6 years old in 1958 I brought chicken pox home to my 6 month old infant sister. My mother was not breastfeeding her. She did have fever and was miserable with the itching of the pox... She was bathed in baking soda and my mother gave her St. ph's Aspirin for Children. She would have done better had my mother given her the benefit of breast milk, but she got through that disease, as well as, 9-day measles and Rubella unscathed by the time she was 18 months old. She had more problems with enlarged tonsils due to the DPT vaccines that my mother made sure that she and I received in their complete course.

Yes, I am sure that there are several children who die of measles and chicken pox per year.. These are children who have been over medicated, staved and living in very poor conditions or over vaccinated. Their immune systems are compromised. When the disease comes to them their medications for asthma or eczema or chronic ear infections has made them quite vulnerable to the complications of breathing difficulties and mastoiditis that comes when children are malnourished. There are most children yearly that are damaged or die of vaccines than do of all of the supposedly, "vaccine preventable diseases" combined...

I don't understand , are you saying that children can't get diseases like measles and be really ill and some die Phyllis? That's not right is it? I know it is rare but it has happened hasn't it..

Please don't think I am for a chicken pox vax, as I think it is silly too. It is just that I hesitated in my decision to take her as I am new to the whole issue and am still learning...all of this info. is still sinking in I think !

And there is always another time to take her to someone else or she could catch it herself,so, I don;t think it is the end of the world....

My son got chicken pox while still bfing(not exclusively) and got them again a few years later(as did his sister who got it the first time when he did)...so no immunity there! But then again, I may have given them benedryl or something for the itching...wouldn't now, of course!

I am not a medical doctor,nor do I portray one on t.v.!(But my husband,Mike,is!!!)
