Guest guest
Well, if his body is producing mucous, then it's trying to get rid of something. You need to help the mucous get out. Try and get it moving so that he can at least swallow it down. The suction bulb never worked with Wyatt. You can call an ND and find out what herbs are good for producing mucous. I used to roll him over on his tum and let him cry (makes the stuff run like water), then wipe him down with a warm wash cloth.
Guest guest
i don't think this will help, but... dor (4.5 months) has been sounding " congested " since he was born. i also had pneumonia for 8 months i was pregnant, which might have something to do with it, but my doctor (who, btw, i think is an ass and i am looking for a new one) says it's nothing. it hasn't seemed to affect his breathing or anything, so i am actually not too worried about it myself unless it does develop into something more. azx OT: How much congestion is too much? Hi everyone Wondering if I could get some input on this: Arlo (2.5 months) wakes up quite congested. There's a lot of rattling in his throat and nose. I tried suctioning his nose once (worried about irritating his sinuses, so I didn't want to do it more), but nothing came out. I know there is a good bit of saliva in there, because he drools a lot. But it sounds as though there's something deeper, as well. It doesn't appear to affect his breathing, though. Is it only a problem if it affects his breathing? Thank you! Guest guest
How amazing about the baby and the chiropractor! I think we will take my son to see one, ourselves. He's been getting ear infection after ear infection ever since his 4 month shots and flight across country. Not sure which caused the ear problems, but they're not getting better. In fact, I think he has developed yet another. (This would be infection #5.) He also sleeps poorly, waking several times in the night. I think it is largely due to teeth. Who knows? We'll have to make an appt. w/ a homeopath to get this taken care of. Does anyone know a good remedy for teething? We've bene using Hyland's Teething Tablets. ~ --- DeVan <ietinc@...> wrote: > I don't know if this will be of help to anyone, but...my sisters son > (19 > months old) had been congested since day one. He had several ear infections also. (Note: he has never been vaccinated). She took him for allergy testing, etc., and although he was sensitive to some things, when she changed hers/his diets (completely breastfed, still does) it didn't help. She read an article on chiropractic care, and it stated that babies can suffer subluxations (when the vertebrae get knocked out of alignment) during birth, and often end up with congestion, ear aches, etc, because of it (if it was cranial or cervical subluxations). Well, my sister had a c-section after 28 hours of labor with a mid-wife and birth center, because her sons head was not properly aligned, and couldn't get through. So, she figured that maybe all that pressure on his head and neck during labor could have put him out of alignment...she went to a chiropractor, had the baby adjusted, and noticed an almost immediate change in his congestion, and sleeping habits (he had been a very poor sleeper). Guest guest
This is just amazing. I would have never thought of taking a baby to a chiropractor. I am glad that is worked. <<she went to a chiropractor, had the baby adjusted, and noticed an almost immediate change in his congestion, and sleeping habits (he had been a very poor sleeper). Our chiropractor is a father himself and is GREAT with infants and children and oh, so gentle! Have a great day! Kim

He visited the Chiropractor at about 2 or 3 months old - he couldn't turn his head to the right. After one or two visits he was PERFECT and started to use his right arm more. (he never used it before cause he couldn't see it) His hips were also out a little and that was fixed too - we probably would have only noticed that when he started to walk. There have been many cases of scoliosis (curviature of the spine) that could have been avoided if the parents had known what chiropractic care could do for their children. If you child (or you) has a misalignment anywhere, the rest of the spine makes up for it...sometimes resulting in one leg shorter than the other, lower (or upper) back pain, scoliosis or many other spinal ailments... I don't know if they would give me one for my children if there was nothing wrong, but I just wanted to take them in just in case. KWIM I guess a chiro. check up. Guest guest
Hmmmmmmmm, good question. I know our insurance covers chiro care for adults but I never thought to look to see if they cover children. I'll have to do that today. At least they cover homeopathic doctors at 80% and massages, too! I should have taken advantage of those massages while I was pregnant!
