Guest guest
Hi Kalima, I have used echinacea tea, made from (organic) leaves of the plant. I got it from Silver Star Nurseries, grown on a mountainside in British Columbia, Canada. It tastes good, as opposed to the tincture which I also think tastes awful. Their info is: Silver Star Nursery 7480 Silver Star Road Vernon, B.C Canada V1B 3N8 (250) 542-9154 Good luck! in Calgary, Canada Looking for echinechea Hey all been lurking as I take care of my 5 sick kids. It has been an adventure. I think we managed to catch everything that was going around this past month. Ok not everything thank goodness but it feels like we have had some sort of cold in there since New Year's eve when my 14 month old got sick. So my question is this. (14 months) is not fond of the liquid echinechea. I have tried putting it in juice but he I think stills knows it is there. I can get him to take the homeopathics that dissolve under the tongue (like Hylands) with no problem. (He even smiles about it) Does anyone know of a form of echinechea I could give him that is in this type of tablet form? Or got any tricks to get a 14 month old to take echinechea? I am breast feeding (yes the strike he was on earlier this month is over) and wonder how much would I need to take to have enough go into my milk to benefit him? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
ditto here - 2yo and 5yo who LOVE the stuff (we also sometimes get the Herb Pharm Children's Echinacea, it's orange flavored & yummy.) As far as nursing & Echinacea, I just follow the adult dosage on the tincture bottle (for me, that's 1.5ml 3 times daily) and trust that my milk will do the rest - remember that bm is LOADED with good things all on its own! Take whatever dosage you would normally take for yourself. Also, I don't put the echinacea in juice or anything. I put it right into my kids' mouths. There is one by Herbs for Kids (I believe), that is very sweet. I think there is also a cherry bark-echinacea combo which is pretty tasty... Guest guest
We are using one for kids. My other kids don't mind it at all and actually call it thier " power juice " when I put a few drop in thier juice but won't drink his at all. I believe the one I have has an orange flavoring to it. Guest guest
Thanks . I will have to look into that. I have tried some teas on him and he likes a few. I know he hates the one chinechea tea I do have but maybe another brand will taste better to him. Guest guest
From what I understand, you just take the regular adult dose. Guest guest
Hi - My son Orion enjoys a chewable one made by 'nutrition now'...maybe a local co-op or health food store has it or can order it. There must be other chewable ones too- this is just one we have liked. -Lori > >Does anyone know of a form of echinechea I could give him that is in > >this type of tablet form?
