Guest guest
Measles (9-day Rubeola) will go " inward " if the eruptions do not completely come to the surface.....thus..... if the fever reducing medications that were used on us when we were kids " suppressed " the skin rash it may go into the eyes, ears, mouth, throat and the gut lining..... This is where the autistic connection of the measles virus being found in the small intestines comes into play. We were " kept in the dark " because it was thought that if light hit our eyes the measles would erupt there and cause us blindness. Vitamin A is stored in the Liver.... If you have too much Vitamin A it will cause liver swelling and pain. If there is a lack of Vitamin A in the liver it can do the same. Vitamen A lacks in the diets of the children in Aftrica due to some myth of the tribal women that certain vegetation that is high in vitamin A is poisonous to young children..... Probably due to the fact that eating too much of that leafy vegetable caused swelling of the abdomen and pain. ----- Original Message ----- From: " Sandy Mintz " <sandym@...> > One example, off the top of my head as well, of a nutritional solution > involves Vitamin A and measles. Guest guest
While I appreciate your analysis, Phyllis, it is still possible that there is something about measles which depletes Vitamin A, and that people weren't acting out of an uneducated, fear of some bogeyman when they kept people out of the dark. Over time, they may have discovered that if you had the measles and were exposed to light, it effected your eyes, so they kept people out of the light. The reason their eyes may have been effected may have had something to do with measles-induced vitamin A depletion. I don't remember now, and I'm too tired right now to look into it, but I don't think it is only in Africa that death rates using Vitamin A are affected. I used the example because if it helped even there, where the death rate from measles is so high and the overall health so poor in many ways, it might be beneficial in developed nations as well (more or less - an argument can be made either way). But even if it has only been shown to work in Africa, it may be because it hasn't been studied any where else. Regardless, the fact that it works there is something to consider.
