Guest guest
hi all, i have a 15 month old son who seems to have a slight milk sensitivity. he was having back to back resp infections turning into very "chesty" coughs. we were fed up with our reg peds anitbiotic, steroid and albuterol approach so we found the only ND in the area. we went to her and immediately felt very comfortable with her. she suggested switching noah to the soy formula (stopped breastfeeding at 2 months - very stupid on my part, i know). he was switched at around 8 months to soy formula, but continued with the resp infections. when he came off the formula we continued with soy milk, but now i am frightend that while trying to do the absolute best for my son, i may have been doing the worst. i have been researching soy and am very upset at what i am finding. the ND says that its fine and that she does not agree that there is a problem. what should i be using? where can i look for this info? if i use rice or almond milk do i need to suppement with vits, flax seed oil for fat and a protein powder?? does anyone have a "recipe" so to speak. any info would be greatly appreciated tammy, mom to noah (who was vaxed up to 6months, but no further - was supposed to get MMR on the 2nd but thank goodness i canceld that appt!)
