Guest guest
HI SHEILA AND ALL Having been to my GP today, he virtually informed me that these thyroid tests are a load of rubbish and that you do not die from thyroid illness, but my Mother - in- law was told this about diabetes. Diabetes causes other illnesses that do cause one to die such as heart and kidney failure which I assume is the same for thyroid problems. He said that he could not prescribe gdales allergy free thyroxine, but from what I gather you cannot buy it privatley either, so is there no end. I ask if he thought the FREE T3 or the THYROID ANTIBODY TEST were worth me having done privatley as the NHS do not provide them. He did not think the ANTIBODY TESTS was worthwhile, but if it puts my mind at rest to have the FREE T3 test done. I have already located a place where I can get this test done privatley, but could find nowhere to just get the blood test done by using LAB 21 through TPA. I hope to get this test done in time for when I see DR PEATFIELD. I also ask my GP that if I do not need thyroxine now, why was I put on it in the first place which was when I was on Pimozide, and he could not give me an answer.Should I write to the health ombudsman and ask him why and to investigate why.
