Starting NDT possibly

Hi all

I thought i'd posted this yesterday.

I'm thinking about starting NDT again. I am feeling lots better on testosterone

- it was, as i suspected, a major cause of my problems (just like sleep apnea,

2-0 to me vs doctors!). there are some issues with dosage and finding the best

form of the med for me (injections, patches, gels, pellets- and even then

there's different formulations). but this is a minor thing really for now,i can

cope and will get it sorted.

I think i still have thyroid symptoms, though i guess this could be something

else like metabolic syndrome which i do know i have and i know this affects

hormone levels a lot. my basal temp is 36c

my major problem is weight - it's hard to lose it but i think it is slowly

starting to come off now, and i mean slowly! i am going lower carb, eating more

veg and protein but also more fat as kindly drew my attention to what

Dr said about protein and thyroid ie high protein using up thyroid. i am

not having sugar now and able to resist junk foods too, this should help.

i am thinking of trying NDT to see if it gets basal temp up from 36c which is

where it is now ; do you think it's best to get tests done of baseline t4 + t3

or just start a trial? i suppose it is best to test really isn't it. maybe i

should also give it longer for the T to work as the dr i spoke to said it takes

6-12 months to have a metabolic effect.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

chris

ps - sorry to anyone i owe an email to, been busy lately too busy to reply to

stuff
