Hi,

Having had the synacthen, bloods tests and dexa bone scan I am awaiting an appt

to see the Endo for the results.

Since last Oct when saw him I had seen Dr P and followed his advice and have

also been self medicating on T3 reducing my Levo and I have now found that most

of the symptoms I had have gone give or take a bit of poo following some stress.

I have lost some weight on the hCG diet and feel much better in myself.

I am tempted to just tell him all this but worry about the sticking point around

me self medicating on T3 I have bought myself from Mexico - I can only imagine

his response will less than favourable as he is high up in BTA etc. Remeber

that they are not interested in whether our bodies are telling us that we are ok

- just blood test results.

I cannot see me walking into a GP or Endo room having lost weight and looking

and feeling better than I have for yrs convincing them that it was down to my

hard work and self treating etc - most of them are blind to anything like that

and will just look at lab results and poo poo anything that I have done.

I have 2 options - 1 is to go to my GP before hand and just tell her the above

and seek her support to continue using the T3 and not go back to the hospital.

Or 2 which is to do neither the GP or hospital - I am right down to 25 mcgs on

Levo and find that I only need small amounts of T3 - about 37.5 a day - since

losing weight on hCG. Maybe I can cut out the T4 altogether then I will be free

of the crap that I may end up having to deal with with the NHS. I don't want a

battle with a GP or Endo which will only make me angry and stress me out more

than I need to.

Anyone else had to deal with this type of scenario?

Thanks

Stacey
