I have to just share this with you all after all your fantastic support.

I have had graves disease for 8 years and spent those years feeling so ill.

I had radio active iodine treatment a year ago and went underactive very quickly

with my tsh peaking at 42 and staying between 28 and 42 for 6 months, i was

taking levothyroxine at this time but felt so ill, could hardly walk, was

desperately tired, my eyes were so puffy my face swollen, i put on 2 stone in 8

months after putting on 6 stone since having graves.

I battled against my gp for t3 and eventually he gave in and started me on 10mg

daily,( i stopped my levothyroxine) i gradually increased this and although felt

quite a bit better was still not right my face was still swollen, eyes puffy and

sore and still a bit achy and my tsh wouldnt budge from 28

I decided to take t3 alongside levothyroxine and started on 150mg levo and 4o

t3, within 4 weeks i felt a lot better and after 6 weeks my tsh was 3.1 and i

feel more normal than i have in years.

I also gave up smoking 7 weeks ago and enrolled in the gym, and am proud to have

lot my first stone.

If someone had told me a year ago that i would be having rai, giving up smoking

and managing to lose weight too i would have laughed, i hope this helps anyone

that is struggling as i was not very long ago

Take care

Dee xx
