Guest guest Posted February 11, 2011 Report Share Posted February 11, 2011 VOLUNTEER (UNPAID) TREASURERThe Trustees of Thyroid Patient Advocacy (TPA) are currently seeking a Volunteer Treasurer to manage the group's accounts. Key responsibilities: Ensure financial records are up to date. Balance the accounts at end of each quarter. Keep a record of group income and expenditure. Present a financial report at the Annual General Meeting Act as joint signatory on the group's bank accountKey skills or requirements: Organised. Reliable. Motivated and enthusiastic. IT literate – knowledge of spreadsheets/excel desirable. Supportive of the TPA agenda and generally aware and concerned about the work we are involved in. This is a crucial role in ensuring the health and sustainability of the group, which should take approximately 1 to 2 hours a month. It is an unpaid post, but agreed expenses pertaining to work for the group will be refunded. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills, meet like-minded people, and learn more about the work TPA is involved in. The TPA Trustees are looking for a publicity officer to help raise the profile of Thyroid Patient Advocacy (TPA) with the media and local community. This is an unpaid role. Key responsibilities: Design and organise distribution of promotional materials for TPA. Build relations with local newspapers and the media in general. Ensure that meetings and events are advertised in local newspapers and local events websites. Support TPA to raise our profile nationally and locally, through events, campaigns and networkingKey skills or requirements: Well-organised. Reliable. Good at communicating by phone, in person, by letter or email. Willing to become a member of TPA Working Party Committee and contribute to the group. Supportive of the TPA agenda, and generally aware and concerned about the work we are involved in. The confidence and ability to pro-actively promote TPA.This is a challenging, interesting and potentially fun role and will make a massive difference to our ability to campaign effectively for all those suffering with a thyroid or thyroid related disease. It is an unpaid post, but agreed expenses pertaining to work for the group will be refunded. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience and skills, or to carry on using your experience if you are now retired, meet like-minded people, and learn more about the role of Thyroid Patient Advocacy.
