Hi - can anyone advise please?

My GP who insists I have CFS though admitted my thyroid is failing, has offered

to do a few blood tests but says I need to get off the Armour I've been on for

three weeks and wash out for six weeks before he'll do the Free T4,Free T3 and

Reverse T3, which I've requested amongst others.

I'm reluctant to stop taking my Armour as I've seen a little improvement in the

short time and I'm keen to get better. Can anyone advise me please what they

would do? (By the way I never asked him to do the TSH as we'd done that two

weeks ago and it was 2.90 so he didn't accept I had hypo.)

This is what he said in his email:

" I'm not so sure about all of the tests you have been suggested although I

certainly feel we can start with most. The only issue on fT3, fT4 and TSH is

that you have already started on some treatment and really they may be

inconclusive if we test now. I would normally suggest a washout of 6 weeks. In

the meantime I'm happy for you to have

Thyroid Antibodies –TgAb 7 anti – TPO

B12/Folate

Zinc

Ironstudies and Ferritin

Vit D3.

EBV IgG+IgM "

He also asked permission to " discuss this further with a local endocrinologist

and chemical pathologist " , so in one respect I think it's good BUT I'm not

holding my breath after the experiences of others on this forum :)

Thanks for any input.
