Guest guest
Hi everyone, I have had some blood tests and would like to post the results. However, I am still getting bad pains in my hip joints and knee joints if I do too much walking i.e. about an hour, which is nothing compared to what I used to do before Hypothyroidism. I still do not know what is causing this pain, and I am due to see my G.P. this week, I am going to ask him for another blood test to see if I still have Inflammatory Arthritis, however when I switched over to NDT last July a lot of the pains in my joints decreased, but I am still not out of the woods yet. Thyroid Stimulating Hormone: <0.01 Ref. Range: 0.27 - 4.2 Free Thyroxine: 16.6 Ref. Range: 12.0 -22.0 Free T3: 6.6 Ref. Range: 3.1 - 6.8 Reverse T3: 0.24 Ref. Range: 0.09 - 0.35 The above were all blood tests done privately via Dr. P. Below was a 24 urine test for T3/T4: Urine T3 640 Ref. Range: 592 - 1850 Urine T4 772 Ref. Range: 347 - 1994 The above 24 hour urine test was done by Genova Diagnostics. I don't understand why my blood test for T3 seems more 'normal' whereas the 24 hour urine test for T3 was in the lower end of the 'normal' scale. When I asked someone about the urine test they said it was to see how the cells in the body use T3/T4 so does this mean that my cells are not getting enough T3 and that is why I still get joint pains? I look forward to hearing from people regarding what they think. Also I have an appointment with Dr. P next week to discuss all these results. Thanks.
