Guest guest
Hi , I'd try to push for iron supplements as the ferritin result isn't very high- that will help with usage of thyroid hormone- what if any thyroid meds are you on? Adrenals don't look that bad, but I think that you're right in worrying about the out of range RT3 > thyroid treatment > From: marylouisekelly23@...> Date: Thu, 10 Feb 2011 22:05:59 +0000> Subject: Test results back, now what to do? - rT3 dominance.> > Hi all, > > I have just received back my test results and now I am a bit unsure what my next course of action is.. Guest guest
Hello , Are you currently on any thyroid medication at all? I have mild adrenal fatigue so I am wondering if I need to start cortisone andtotally sort out my adrenals before I start attacking the rT3? IMO no, with an adrenal profile results like yours you would not need the cavalry. Cortisol treatment is only indicated when all natural supplementation has failed to bring up the adrenal function after several months of trying. HC should always be a last resort, not a first treatment. Adrenal and thyroid support with supplements like NAX (Nutri adrenal extra), high Vitamin C, Licorice, Co-Q10 and Selenium should help to support both, your adrenals and your thyroid function. However, your Ferritin is too low – it should be nearer the 100 mark, so you need to supplement iron . Your D3 is also pretty low – you need to take at least 1000 iu daily, more would be better. The same goes for B12 and Folate – both should be at the top of the ref range. The combined effect of those low parameters might explain why you have a high rT3 count and consequent hypothyroid symptoms. rT3 prevents thyroid hormone from getting inside the cells.
