Guest guest
Thank you Sheila for your very helpful reply to my enquiry about my doctor's response to my T3 results. I had been thinking I would have to ask for a referral to an endocrinologists at some point soon. I would welcome help from anyone reading this on which endocrinologist I should try and see. I live in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. I have the TPA list of endocrinologists and had been thinking of trying to see an endocrinologist at the hospital Sheila goes to. But if anyone has good experiences with doctors on the list in York or Harrogate or anywhere a bit closer to me, perhaps they could email me. Harrogate and surrounding area are doable for me as my boyfriend lives there. I've also come across people in Scarborough (with different health conditions) who've gone to Hull, Middlesborough and Newcastle to see consultants. I am very keen to see an endocrinologist who is approachable! I would rather not have to battle to get T3 or armour or a higher dose of T4, whichever it is I need! So I'm prepared to travel. This is because when I first got ill with CFS many years ago, my experiences with endocrinologists (in a different part of the country) left me with a bit of a doctor phobia. I have made a lot of headway in getting over this, but I would still rather travel to someone a bit further away who will be ok to deal with rather than see someone nearer who is rude or with whom I have to go in and argue my corner every time! I realise I may be asking a lot, but it's worth a try! Every best wish Debbie
