Guest guest
have you tried amitriptaline, i take this and although im not a great fan of this drug it does work when taken at night time. > > Hi Kathleen, hope you improve, I can't offer advice as I havnt taked HC, but just to say that I know that if I do a lot one day-days out, housework and gardening, that I am exhausted the next day. I am attending the TPA conference on the 11th June, but 3 appointments have come up on the day before, which will mean that I am rushing around all day, then will have to catch up on housework ect. All of the appointments are important, but I fear that if I don't cancell one or two, that I won't be able to make the journey the next day, as I get headaches and nausea as well as hearing problems with the fatigue. Take care. Jan. X >
Guest guest
Oh Jan, please do take it easy and forget the housework at least - that is really NOT important, and don't rush around, that will only stress your adrenals even more and it would be such a shame if you missed our TPA Jamboree. Take some extra adrenal support whilst you are sorting out what's important and what's not. I have an old saying going round and round in my head whenever I find myself in such a situation " Everything matters - - but not frightfully!! " I look forward to seeing you on the 11th June. Luv - Sheila Hi Kathleen, hope you improve, I can't offer advice as I havnt taked HC, but just to say that I know that if I do a lot one day-days out, housework and gardening, that I am exhausted the next day. Guest guest
HI Yes I have tried Amitriptaline, and it caused me to go off drinking fluids, and felt sick after trying to eat. The first drug of this nature that I was prescribed was Tryptafen DA, and this too has Amitriptaline in it. It caused me to be constipated hence Lactulose. I passed out twice on it, second time ending up in Atkinson Morley where they said that I had a form of epilepsy (temporal lobe), so Epinutim and phenobarbitone were prescribed, but I was still left on Tryptafen DA,causing me to take an overdose a few weeks later. They withdrew all drugs then, but I have been told that I do not have epilepsy. I have suffered from drugs prescribed by psychiatrists, and problems with CPN'S (not a fault of mine). I have not had any headaches, but at times feel that I am going to be sick. Kathleen
Guest guest
I do agree with you Sheila - housework is definitely not worth getting exhausted for. I always get a delayed reaction if I do too much. Usually anything from 1 to 2 days later. You'd have thought I'd have learnt by now - but I got so excited earlier this week that I could do a bit more - I wiped half the bathroom blinds, hoovered half the stairs and have been in bed all the rest of the week as a result. I wish now that I'd done something more enjoyable with my precious bits of energy - other than cleaning! Also Kath - I always get a pulling and pain on my lower back after I've exerted myself too much. It does go with rest and I'm trying to use it as a sign that I should stop doing whatever it is I'm doing. But it's always difficult to judge because of the delayed reaction. Hope you feel better soon.Alison >> Oh Jan, please do take it easy and forget the housework at least - that is>
Guest guest
HI ALISON My day out yesterday was supposed to be relaxing in photography, but its walking round that caused pain overnight, and have a job getting out of bed. My hair has started falling out more, and things did improve on stopping taking thyroxine, so perhaps my GP is correct that I do not need thyroxine, and it could be this that causes one to do more, and then end up worse. On the report from the psychiatrist on the medication the thyroxine has a question mark against it.What could be the meaning? There are quite a few who do not get on with thyroxine, but does T3 cause one to do even more activity. Will try a few days without thyroxine.Like Jan no housework for me today. Thank goodness I do not have a Husband to get angry with me. Kathleen > > I do agree with you Sheila - housework is definitely not worth getting > exhausted for. Guest guest
The question mark is there by way of asking a question Kathleen - he is questioning whether or not thyroxine is needed??? There are many unable to get on with thyroxine because it does nothing on its own. It has to convert to the active thyroid hormone T3. It is T3 every cell in your body and brain needs to make them function, especially the brain and yes, T3 gives you the energy to carry out your usual daily tasks and more. Guest guest
HI SHEILA My GP has also said that he does not think I need thyroxine,so the best thing I can do for now is to stop the thyroxine, and have already increased the Prednisolone. MY diagnoses from this psychiatrist is that I have a HYPERCHONDRIACAL DELUSIONAL DISORDER,(would you classify HYPOTHYROIDISM under this heading, and would it make you angry). I take it that T3 and the fact that it enables me to do more, but would this be without ending up in pain with Polymyalgia or Fibromyalgia (whichever diagnoses they use). I have also been sick today and my eyes hurt, and also have indigestion so not eating much. I will point this question mark out to my GP as he will have had a letter as well. He wants me to have ARIPIPRAZOLE and I was given an A4 page with a heading from their trust. I was told to go away and think about it and research it. This drug too is said to cause cancer. It is also said to cause constipation and fluid retention, and these two alone would not help me, and only worsen me.I have a lot more than one page of side effects on this drug, and will forward all info to ICAS, as I am cross about these nasty remarks that are in my records from Psychiatrists, and want them removed. I have also done nothing harmful to my CPN,as I am not an aggressive person for her to want to discharge me, although I have stated that Thyroid Problems are of a physical cause but in turn cause depression I have some blood tests to get the results of on Friday, and one was ESR, but my blood must also be running dry as the Sister had again a job to get blood, and had to resort to my hand. I have also not believed in having blood transfusions as blood has viruses in it, and some are possibly unknown. To have a virus to fight and an antibiotic would not do me anygood. The fact that I am studing to become a JEHOVAH WITNESS could well protect me here. The last update on my Brother is that having had his OP (still do not know if its cancer), the nurse was concerned that he is very sleepy and uncommunicative. He has also got an abcess or boil come up on his neck. I keep mentioning about the Thyroid problem in our family, and also to the Doctor. From what I gather if he gets over the OP they are going to test his thyroid. They are also going to do another OP on the 1st for another look at his bladder and prostrate gland.
