Guest guest
ita and the other new members (sorry, I forget names really fast) I am a sometimes lurker, sometimes big talker, I guess it depends on my day. I'm mom to , DS-ASD, ADHD and ODD. He's going to be 10 next month. Hardly seems possible that 10 years have gone by. He was diagnosed ASD last year in February, at the age of 8. I always knew he was different than other kids I had seen with " just " DS. He's on Risperdal and a gf diet. The gf diet eliminated the Dexedrine he was on, and allowed him to reduce the amount of Risperdal he took. It's a hard diet to follow, but well worth it for . I homeschool, because he is pretty high functioning. He's in 1-2 grade level, with writing in 3rd (cursive). He hates writing, actually he hates practicing anything. Once he knows it, he assumes once he's learned it, he won't have to do it again :-). We're Navy, and stationed in Hawaii right now (I know, tough duty, but someone has to do it). DH works with the Navy Seals, driving the boats for the Seal Team. We retire in 11 MONTHS!! WOOOOOOH-HOOOOH!! I'm originally from Cape Girardeau, Missouri, and he's from Granite City, Illinois (2 hours north of Cape, 10 minutes east of St. Louis). But I have family in Arkansas (ville). We'll probably settle in Granite City, as there's a school for autistic children there. I visited it last October when we took the new baby home to see family, and for to see everyone. They are excited about getting , as they don't have any dual diagnosis at this time. They seem willing to accept the challenge...... Well, I guess this has gotten long enough. Welcome to the list everyone. It's really been great to have a bunch of people who understand the specific challenges of the dual diagnosis. Guest guest
Since we're discussing age, I forgot to add that I'm 36. I guess it depends on who you're talking to if that's old or not. Loriann

Guest guest
Welcome to ita from another of the " older ones " . I have five children, ranging in age from 32 down to Elie who is 14yo with all the alphabets- DS/ASD?/PDD-NOS/OBD?/ and a teen to boot. Elie talks, but not necessarily on the topic one needs from him. He likes to " Elope " , usually at dusk. And many other charming behaviors that get discussed ad nauseum on this list (like feces, body parts, sex, unseemly behavior in public, etc) Again welcome to our world. Sara Cohen, in PA >>> heirbornpr@... - 04/26/0 10:32 PM >>> Hi everyone! I just found out about this group from Farrell, and boy am I glad. It is wonderful to know there are others out there riding in the same boat! My name is ita and I live in Redfield, AR. I have a daughter who is 27,(I think I may be one of the " older " ones from reading all of the other posts!!lol. I have a son, Reuben, who will be 13 next month, and has . I'm also a grandmother (Avorie,11 months). I've realized from reading all the posts, that I have a lot to learn! Some of this stuff, I've never heard of!. Reuben used to have some speech and could understand some sign, but to get him to talk now is like pulling teeth. He can do it, he just won't. He is on Tegretol for seizures. We've tried some meds (Risperdal) with no success. He's not really hyper. He mainly sits and rocks back and forth, and flips wooden spoons. He does run off sometimes when he thinks we're not looking! He is so strong, tho. He doesn't know his own strength and he loves to hug Avorie! We really have to watch him. There's a lot more I'd like to talk about, but I know this is already too long! Again, I'm so glad I found and now all of you. I know i'm going to be really blessed by this group! ita ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SHOPPING for DEALS? Matt is 9, in 2nd grade, and we are currently messing with his meds. He is up to .5mg of Risperdal, and doing well, but......... they had a substitute teacher yesterday. We all know how well our kids do with change, and the school was all out for inservices all day, so they got subs- really messing up schedules. Anyway, the note from school yesterday said:. " Matt had a problem today. He kept picking his nose and trying to wipe it on the sub! " I am still......LMAO (thanks Leah) Just a ray of sunshine to everyone's morning! Check your phone book under chemicals, and when you find one ask for potassium hydroxide. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com

But who am I to say. But other than a fat burner thats all I do. Theres alot of people on here that take different things so I'm sure they will tell you about it. Good luck with your challenge! ~kim New Kid on the Block Hello Everyone, I will be starting my first challange on Jan. 1 2003. My goal is to lose fat and tone. I would really appreciate some advice on supplements. In particular I was wondering about creatine. Have any of you used creatine?
Guest guest
Kim, Thanks for the reply. I have also tried Xenadrine, but was not to thrilled with the ephedrine in it. After doing some research, I've heard that Xenadrine EFX is supposed to be just as effective without the ephedrine. I was thinking of giving that a shot. Thanks again. --Myream > Welcome to BFL! > I dont have any advise on the supplements, I only take xenadrine, which is only because I had ordered it before i started and have 2 bottles of it.
