Floundering! Am I on the right track?

Hi all,

Just been feeling a bit overwhelmed with all the medications/supplements etc and

wondered if anyone could let me know if I'm on the right track here.

Brief summary - was diagnosed hypo in 2008 and put on levo, worked up to 125mg.

Some symptoms lessened but did not disappear, other symptoms remained, plus

increasing fatigue, depression, weight gain, all the rest of it. Then found TPA

- oh happy day! Did saliva test for adrenals, the results came back

frighteningly low. Asked Dr for SST, she has refused and will only do serum

cortisol - I am waiting for this result. I stopped levo and after a break

started taking Erfa. Am on 2 grains per day, but symptoms not improved, and

think I probably need more.

Last thyroid results (when I wasn't taking any thyroid replacement, having a

break!) showed TSH 9.22 (range 0.27-4.20), free T3= 4.2 (3.1 -6.8) and free T4 =

12 (range 12 - 22).

They also (finally!) tested for antibodies. The results were TPO = 74.0 IU/ml,

and anti-tissue transglutnase = 0.4 u/mL. It said Tissue Transglutamine =

Negative.

I couldn't get the ranges for those antibody results because the receptionist

didn't understand what I was on about and didn't know how to print off from the

computer and was getting more and more p****d off with me!

So, at the moment I am taking 2 grains of Erfa and planning to increase.

If the serum cortisol comes back 'normal' the GP won't investigate adrenals any

further, so I plan to start HC at that point.

I am also wanting to start the Iodine protocol, but feel unsure about doing this

in conjunction with Erfa and HC -- seems like a lot of medication all at once?

I am taking 1000 mcg B12, 4000 vit c, 1000 magnesium, 400 selenium, 200

chromium, and a multivitamin daily. I am using unrefined celtic sea salt on

food.

My diet is sugar-free, gluten-free, and very low carb. Almost caffeine-free

(still can't manage without cup of tea first thing!).

Am I missing something? Am I doing the right things? I definitely feel some

small improvements since starting this journey, like a couple of times I have

been able to do half an hour's housework in the evening after work, which I

couldn't manage at all before. But I don't really feel much improvement. I'm

wondering if all this isn't going to help much until my adrenals are better

supported? They were really bad on the saliva test.

Any advice whatsoever gratefully appreciated!!!

Thank you all for being here!

Georgie :)
