Dear Group Members,

I am 34 now, not bad looking, and have always been blessed with a strong and

beautiful skin.. The last 1.5 year my skin is becoming thinner and thinner, and

I am really panicking now. If this continues on this speed, I will be old on 35

or 36.. And I am loosing colour too... (slowly)

Is there a doctor I can talk to about this, or do you have any advice what to

do?

Other then my daily hormonal pills (dessicated erfa, hydrocortisone, DHEA,

pregnenolone, and recently started with Growth Hormone, I am taking b-complexc,

B12 shots, Q-10, vitD3, calcium, magnesium, vit C, fish oil, and some other

vitamines...

I am gathering as much as possible information on what to do.

Love,

Hi , This is just one of the unkindnesses that an unbalanced system can throw at you. I can understand the losing colour as I no longer tan as swiftly as I used to and my skin is thinner too, but then I'm 57 so to be expected at my age I suppose. You are taking an excellent selection of supplements. Maybe someone like http://www.lef.org ( from memory) -the life extention foundation- would have some ideas for you. Or you could still be undermedicated- how do you feel generally? > thyroid treatment > From: sandra.deswaef@...> Date: Thu, 16 Dec 2010 14:56:36 +0000> Subject: Thinning skin, and only 34 years old...> > Dear Group Members, > > I am 34 now, not bad looking, and have always been blessed with a strong and beautiful skin.. Hi

,

Thinning

skin is not really a symptom of hypothyroidism, skin usually gets tougher and

very dry and flaky. There are so many causes of thinning skin they are too numerous

to mention here, but if you type 'thinning skin' into Google you can find

these. It is a generally accepted complaint of older people, but you are too

young to have such a condition. Have you asked your GP to refer you to a dermatologist

who may be able to help find the cause. There are some

topical corticosteroids, either used

topically or taken orally, that can weaken the blood vessels in the skin and

weaken skin in general. See http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/medicines/100001290.html

where it shows that HC can cause thinning of the skin. Read the information

also about DHEA, Progesterone, Pregnenolone and thinning skin too http://raypeat.com/articles/articles/three-hormones.shtml

Hi , Thanks for the information. I am taking the dessicated since September 2010, and all the other hormonal supplements since 2 or 3 weeks and since I am taking those extra supplements I have the feeling that I am finally feeling like a human being again.. with ENERGY... something I did not had much of for the last few years. I feel like I am on the right track, but don't know if I am still undermedicated. Time will tell. Hi Sheila, Thanks for the info. I read this before, I am only taking the supplements for 3 weeks now, so I don't think this can be the cause even more because I already had thinning skin before taking the HC etc.. But still it's a really good idea to watch this closely... Thank you for the links with valuable information. Dear , Do you mean adrenal support, as in supplementing with HC? or are you referring to something else? Has your skin improved again? I hope so for you... Hi , Ah that explains it- as you have not been on NDT for very long you haven't fully recovered yet- it takes the best part of a year- after all you have been ill for a long time so everything won't heal overnight. Good to hear you are now feeling that you are on the right track- wait and see what spring brings! thyroid treatment From: sandra.deswaef@...Date: Thu, 16 Dec 2010 12:52:50 -0800Subject: Re: Thinning skin, and only 34 years old...
