SHEILA ______________________________________ hello, brief history, im a 37 year old male, at the age of 16 they discovered i had a dysfunctional kidney which got worse and stopped working in 2000 at 26,i got septacemia and had it removed,6 months later i developed type 1 diabetes, they said as a result of the septacemia your organs can start to shut down and the pancreas is often affected. i went on insulin but never really felt right,i started getting lots of symptoms all associated with with hypothyroidism. about a year later, after much complaining to my doctor that i didnt feel right,he gave me a blood test, my tsh was 2.5 which he said was worrying but i had to be outside 5.0 to be treated. after 3 years of it going 2.8,3.2,3.8,4.1,4.5 and evetually 5.5 i got on levothyroxine after putting on 3 stone, suffering from depression, having previously being hyperactive to having zero energy...i was expecting miracles...nothing happened..my symptoms persisted and my hair started falling out. a manged to lose 2 stone after going on the dafne course for diabetes. since then my hairloss has continued as have my symptoms, especially stomach problems and muscle aches have continued. 2 years ago they said i had high blood pressure and started me on ramipril as they noticed my remaining kidney function had dropped (that has since got a bit better) but thats more down to better blood sugar control after dafne. ok, so that last 6 months my hair has started really falling out rapidly and my stomach problems have got much worse, they are saying ive got extreme ibs and they are going to test me for celiac, thay are also going to test my prostate as im getting lower abdominal pain when urinating and getting a weak flow. it was because of all this that i started looking on the net and there you go as soon as i typed it in..synthroid and hairloss was all over the net as was ramipril and hairloss ans also much more about synthroid being poor. i have an appointment with my endocronologist on tuesday (dr M*****) and id like to have more info about going on T3 and getting off ramipril. they do not do non synthroid over here do they? (im in essex, england) but i heard they do thioronine, dont know if i spelled that correctly, would that help with synthroid? im getting terribly depressed about the hairloss,in the last 3 weeks is falling out more than ever, really noticably and my stomach is worse. i had a full set of blood works done 2 weeks ago for my appointment, is there anything i should look for to help? sorry for the long message but i needed to get it all out there, any help would really be appreciated as im at my wits end, many many thanks
