We have a close friend, 61 year old female, who we are concerned about. She has

been on Levothyroxine for 20 years.

She is suffering from fatigue, breathless on exertion, pale skin including lips.

She has abdominal weight gain despite diet –barrel body, thin arms and legs.

Bruises easily. Loss of muscle despite exercise/ slow recovery after exercise.

Muscle and joints ache.

Dry skin, hair, eyes and mouth, dry brittle nails. Hair loss, croaky voice,

purple eye bags.

Basal temperature avg 35 Cold all the time. Headaches, migraine, light sensitive

and intolerant to sun. Brain fog, chronic sinus and earache. Blood pressure

fluctuates.

Was blood tested by Dr who said all were normal!!! Except she was HYPER and

reduced her Levothyroxine. Blood tests for thyroid were see-sawing for 4 years

and Levo has been raised and lowered. It was at 150ug but is now at 100ug and

she feels awful.

We suggested she ask her Dr for copies of the results, and here they are. She

hadn't been told of the kidney damage and neither have further test been

suggested!

Mildly decreased GFR- Stage 2 CKD if kidney damage confirmed.

damage for 3 months or greater, manifest by pathological abnormalities of the

kidney, abnormalities in the composition of urine such as haematuria or

proteinuria, or abnormalities in imaging tests.

We would appreciate any help in casting some light on the difference between her

Many thanks

Ian
