How the Thyroid and Adrenals Work Together

Hi,

I am new here, I am pleased to find a group based in the UK.

In Jan I was diagnosed with stage 5 adrenal fatigue and my thyroid was also hypo

at that stage ( TSH of 3.06, T4 in bottom 10% of normal and T3 in upper 70% of

normal. My first 4 months on HC I was not tired at all, apparently I had a lot

of adrenaline in my body, so my hypo symptoms did not show up until later.

Mainly IBS, Fibro Pain and low energy.

I started treating my adrenals with HC first and have been on HC for 6 months. I

recently added in thyroid - I have tried a mix of natural and T4 only. I have

settled on T4 only as my conversion to T3 seems to be pretty good. When I take

T4, my hypo symptoms are gone in two days...Armour feels like 10 cups of

coffee...yikes!

I am finding it difficult to manage the HC / Thyroid combination. You can't tell

what symptom is what...

Anyway, when I add in the T4, it seems my adrenals heal quickly and I quickly

get high cort symptoms. Is that possible?

I took 20mg of HC today and it has made my vision a little blurry and a have an

odd dizzy sensation.

I am only on 25mcg of T4 and I take it in the morning, 1 hour before I eat and

no supplements until 4 hour later. Before I take the HC, I feel fine...no

dizziness, etc.

Before I started taking thyroid medication, I was only in need of 15 mg of HC

per day but was told you should increase when starting thyroid meds.

Any experience with this would be great!

Thanks!
