Guest guest
I was working in out patients the other day and was reading through a very young girls file who had congenital hypothyroidism, not surprisingly she was not optimally treated (on T4) and they were blaming it on her medicine being given inconsistently by the parents!! (which they vehemently denied) I also noted she was on anti histamines, don't they interfere with thyroid?? anyway we were super busy in the clinic and I couldn't get to speak with the Mum, but that is a load tosh about blaming it on dosage timings isn't it? (bearing in mind it's T4 only, had it been T3 then there could have been inconsistencys)What will they come up with next? can't possibly be their wonderful Thyroxine drug. The pt wasn't actually in regarding the hypo, something else but could have been related, I'm not sure.
