Guest guest
Hi, its been some time since I posted, but just to let everyone know I came off the large dose of Erfa I put myself on because of the chronic pains in my leg joints, and am now o.k. at taking 2 grains of Erfa. I did have some bad headaches for quite a few days when the Erfa had accumulated over quite a few days or weeks at such a high dose, but these have now gone as I got myself down to 2 grains. The chronic and debilitating pains in my leg joints are a lot better, I don't have the pain in my hips or knees that I did, I do, however, get sore feet and my ankles need strengthening a bit. I saw the Rhumatologist, had loads of blood tests and X-rays but they couldn't find out what the cause of the joint pains were - at one time I could barely walk as the pain was so intense, - And this was when I was taking Levothyroxine for quite some months, but now I am on Erfa these pains, thank God have gone and I can get on with my life. I am back at university doing a part-time course, and get on with the housework o.k. I did ask the Rhumatologist, when she said she was going to write to my G.P., to put in the notes and letter that I have improved nearly 100% because I am taking natural dessicated thyroid extract not synthetic Levothyroxine, all I can say is that I must be allergic to synthetic LevoT., as my mother and sister who also have Hypothyroidism have been on Levothyroxine for some years and they have never got the bad results I had on it, I really hope that if there are any doctors reading this message that they can take note that some people just don't get on with synthetic T4 or maybe allergic to it, I really don't know. Anyway I am going to try to get Erfa on prescription some time in the future. Also I have had to get over the death of my father who died of lung cancer this January and now my mother has bladder cancer, but it is non-invasive and she is having it taken out bit by bit, as there was a lot of it, but it has not spread to any other part of her body. Both my parents were smokers for years, when one of the nurses talked to me and my mother she said that smoking increases the risk of bladder cancer, she said it was worth drinking plenty of cranberry juice as this stops the bacteria sticking to the walls of the bladder, and also drink plenty of water. Anyway thanks for all your help. Ann.
