Hi ,Does this mean that if estrogen levels decrease then a person like me, who tends toward hyperactive thyroidism, would tend to have that condition return? I am referring to your last comment about the estrogen being like a sponge. Thanks,CherylFrom: Stacey <stacey57@...>Subject: Re: Estrogen Dominance and Thyroidthyroid treatment Date: Thursday, December 2, 2010, 1:18 PM

Hi Han,

The way I understand it is that the ovaries are part of the endocrine system and produce hormones and if that is out of sync so can the rest be and so on.

I mentioned estrogen dominance many times to my last Gp and to the gynae endo he stupidly sent me to and was told that there was no such thing. Well actually if you are producing less progesterone because of hormone imbalance or menopause then that naturally means that your estrogen is going to be higher, so more dominant - not sure why they couldn't or wouldn't figure that!

I know that people can use Natural progesterone cream to enable the balance to come back and that in turn will help towards the rest of the endocrine system.

There is also something about estrogen being like a sponge for other 'good' stuff happening so maybe stealing away some of the good stuff the thyroid tries to throw out?? Some one may correct me on that.

Hope this helps.

Stacey
