Guest guest
Since June 2005, I took Gleevec (400) mg. First I was diagnosed AF Atrial fibrillation in June 2003. Actually I take to control AF, three medicaments ( Coumadin, Monocor and Rythmol). I don't know if there is some interaction between these medicaments. Is the there somebody in the same situation than me? I am 53 years old. I lived in Montreal (Canada).
Guest guest
Hi Gilles, Bienvenu a notre group. Yes there are a couple of people I know of who started with A-Fib then found out they had CML although I don't think the two are related. Hopefully you'll hear from some of them. I know from our group has both and Zavie takes Coumadin as do a couple of others for a variety issues. Guest guest
Salut Gilles, Welcome to our CML family. Gleevec interacts with Coumadin. It tends to enhance the effect of Coumadin. In my personal case I was on Coumadin since 1991 and my INR counts were very steady. In 2001 I started taking Gleevec, and my INR counts were no longer stable. I check it every 2-3 weeks and make adjustments in my Coumadin dose. There is a CML support group that meets in Montreal on a regular basis. I try and join them as often as I can. Both Tracey and I were born in Montreal and we now live in Ottawa. We have a CML group that meets here on a regular basis. Can you tell at what level your CML is at. I ask this question because I am always looking for new members in my Zero Club. Also, where do you go for treatment and who is you CML doctor. I hope this helps, Zavie Zavie (age 68) 67 Shoreham Avenue Ottawa, Canada, dxd AUG/99 INF OCT/99 to FEB/00, CHF No meds FEB/00 to JAN/01 Gleevec since MAR/27/01 (400 mg) CCR SEP/01. #102 in Zero Club PCRU 5/02 at RVH (Questionable) 2.8 log reduction Sep/05 3.0 log reduction Jan/06 e-mail: zmiller@... Guest guest
Et salut encore une fois! Moi, je suis Americain, mais bien heureux d'avoir l'opportunite d'ecrire en francais avant de tout oublier. (Je n'ai aucune idee si c'etait even remotely comprehensible. Forgive me if not. : )) I'm also on Coumadin -- I have been since I had a pulmonary embolism in April 2006. (I'm 43 and I've been on Gleevec since I was diagnosed in May 2005.) Since my INR counts stablized, I've been getting them checked every four weeks or so. I haven't needed an adjustment for several months. Warmest regards.
