Guest guest
Well hello all, I finaly got the liver ultrasound scan back. Receptionist read out over phone gall stones, one fairly large, make telephone appointment with Doctor. So am speaking to doctor in about a week. This must be why the radiographer asked if I got stomach pains, I said no I didnt but got some aching under my ribs on left hand side. She then scanned all that area and even did some whilst I sat upright. Anybody else got gall stones please? Any advice? Is this the cause of the swelling although that is better since going wheat free. Luv Stephie

Guest guest
HI STEPHIE I got in touch with NHS DIRECT last night due to pain under ribs, which I now associate with eating cheese. I cannot wear anything tight either as that makes the pain worse. They think its the GALL BLADDER (so possibly stones)and so did a former GP. When I went on holiday Xmas of 2008, and I did ask if the catered for vegetarian diets, but this consisted of cheese and more cheese. I ended up with a bad upset stomach which was black. This did however relieve the pain in my back. I ask them not to give me anymore cheese, and could I please just have a plate of vegetables, and the answer was that they could not do that, so I said if that is the case can you just make me a salad sandwich, which I had for my dinner. The pain also causes me to be out of breath, and I was said to have a HIATIOUS HERNIA but have to wonder about that now. I have in the past been sick on fish and chips so canot have them either. Cheese is also high in calcium, and I keep telling Doctors that Calcium causes my problems. This in turn can cause problems with ones bones if one cannot have Calcium. Last night I sat down thinking should I take the OMPRAZOLE and as this has also made me feel bad in the past, I wondered if in turn the SUCROSE in it might be what makes me worse, so in the end decided to take two CHARCOAL TABLETS and this in turn helped the pain. I also have to wonder if the SOYA BEAN OIL in the VITAMIN D3 tablets can in turn cause a problem to the GALL BLADDER. The GALL BLADDER can go on to cause problems to the PANCREAS, as some thyroid patients do get Diabetis, so in turn makes me wonder about the SUCROSE in the medications. I am also not able to wear anything tight round the waist area, as it in turn causes pain. I look back to when my Mother-in-Law said that I needed to wear a corset to hold my stomach in (not diagnosed at this time with HYPOTHYROIDISM). I tried a lightweight girdle, but time the evening had to strip it off in turn painful, but it also caused a flu like cold which subsided by the morning, and I just have to wonder how many of us have been diagnosed with an irritable colon, and this I have since learnt is not a diagnoses. I do not get so much of this since I stopped having animal proteins. I am seriously now reaching a point as to know just what to eat. Guest guest
>>>>>> The GALL BLADDER can go on to cause problems to the PANCREAS, as some thyroid patients do get Diabetis>>>>> I had diabetes before I became hypothyroid, and I think that is the usual way. There are less people with thyroid problems who become diabetic than those with diabetes getting thyroid problems. The problems that can be caused to the pancreas from the gall bladder is when you have gall stones and one (or more) get into the pancreas. You then get pancreatitis, which is life threatening and nothing to do with diabetes. Lilian
Guest guest
Wouldn't it be wise to find out definitely first whether you have gall stones or not, and rule out any other problem with gall bladder, or anything else for that matter. Guest guest
HI LILIAN My sister had to have had the thyroid problem before she had diabetis, as she put on a lot of weight after her third child, and it is unlikely that she had diabetis at that point. She was never told she had a thyroid problem either, but my present GP could say by her last photo by looking at her neck that she also had the thyroid problem linked in our family. I already have a thyroid problem yet they are testing me at times for diabetis. I can only hope that the route cause to a lot of my problems are due to a cervical polyp, which keeps recurring, and just how its been missed especially by the Gynaecologist at my local hospital I don't know. They would not remove it as I was told it would bleed, so in turn a likely cause of a water infection in turn not good for ones kidneys. Kidneys in turn can affect ones hormones in turn other problems crop up. I also face the problem of an abnormality of the kidney so AAAAH to the NHS and the PCT. I hope I make it back up there for an utrasound next week and manage the journey better than last time. I have to go up there again for the results. I also have got an appointment for a DEXA BONE SCAN on 21st. Guest guest
Hi Lilian and Kathleen Thanks for the advice, its nice to know you are not on your own with this, I must say although I feel better without the wheat my bowels seem to be in overdrive now and still a lot of gas as well. Pardon the extra information, I am seeing doc at weekend so will mention this. My middle sister has been identified with Diabetes and the other eldest one has gallstones. Guess its in the family although they are nine and twelve years older than me so ahve had a longer run before having problems, guess I am the runt of the litter!!
