Guest guest
I've just been reading some of the PDF's -through the RT3 site . did you say to me that the TSH depends on the T4? Here he has graphs showing a low T3 suppresses the TSH . He gives various reference. Please check but it does seem to make a mockery of the TSH test ! Best wishes
Guest guest
The pituitary's production of TSH is a function of TRH, T4, and T3... Guest guest
Hi , TSH is more affected by T3 levels than T4, though both do have an effect- TSH should only be read in conjunction with both FT4 and FT3 once treatment has started. > thyroid treatment > From: mary36white@...> Date: Fri, 3 Dec 2010 23:41:01 +0000> Subject: Ken Holtoft> > I've just been reading some of the PDF's -through the RT3 site . did you say to me that the TSH depends on the T4? Guest guest
Hi I was interested in this as I had a borderline T3 with a TSH of 3 . His point is I think to show what an unreliable test the TSH test is . His website is good with clips on interviews done on chat shows - the ones on at the moment are on his use of bio-identical hormones and are very interesting. It's a pity we have nobody over who goes on TV to explain this way of thinking . Bst wishes
Guest guest
Hi ERIC . Thankyou for your answer .Can you please tell me why if the T3 is low due to poor conversion of T4 toT3 you can also have a low TSH . Is it because like everything else in the body the pituitary also doesn't work properly so you don't get enough thyroid stimulating hormone . Do your endos believe in poor conversion ? Thankyou for your time
