Guest guest
Dear Inam, is there any chance you could see our Dr Peatfield as you seem in a real state with your health which he could probably sort out for you. There could well be some other associated condition that is stopping your thyroid hormone from working properly, as it should and I have attached a document to show what some of these conditions could be and why it is important to get tested for these and use the appropriate supplements to enable the levothyroxine (T4) Â to work well. However, it may be that the levothyroxine (which is a mainly INACTIVE thyroid hormone) is unable to convert to the ACTIVE thyroid hormone T3. It is T3 every cell in our body needs, NOT T4. Have you had your thyroid function tested recently. If so, get the results from your GP together with the reference range for each test done and post them here on the forum so we can help with their interpretation. Never accept a doctor telling you that your thyroid function is " normal " just because your results are within the range. Can you change your GP - there is little point in staying with a doctor who doesn't care about you at all. You can write or telephone your local Primary Care Trust and tell them you are very unhappy with your present GP and would like to be moved to another surgery in the hope you would find a doctor who cares about his patients. They will make the necessary arrangements for you. Luv - Sheila My GP doesn't care at all. I am confused and disorientated. I am taking 300 to 350 micrograms daily but still suffer from symptoms and they are unpleasant. I have tried on numerous occasions to lower my dosage by 25 mcgs until I get down to 200 which Im told is safe. Everytime I lower my dose I become very ill, cold, unable to use the toilet and very irritable and moody. I have had nearly 30 years of this and I don want another 30. I do feel like I am dying and I know there is no help from the NHS. I know there is little anybody can do so this is just to inform you of my situation. I am really fed up. Thanks for reading. Bless.
