Guest guest
Hi All, I have had several phone calls from GP and have rung surgeon's secretary this morning, the summary of it all as follows: Surgeon on holiday so I can't see him at outpatients until Monday 13th December and he has advised my surgery that they cannot prescribe before then. GP now has histology report from a professor that the slides were apparently referred to for a second opinion. he concludes that " there is no evidence of malignancy " . This is obviously a relief but I am still a little unsure as to if I am in the clear, as I don't know what the first histology report showed. Especially confusing as the surgeon won't prescribe. Any ideas why he won't until he sees me? Yesterday was a particularly bad day, and thing are gradually getting worse. My bloods 2-3 weeks ago were TSH 15 and Free T4 12.6, pre-op they were TSH 4.1 and Free T4 16.4. Is it possible that levels will fall after half the thyroid has been removed and then pick back up to normal levels? How do the levels above seem to you? Sorry, but so many questions! Am I right in assuming that labs in different Health Authorities will have different " From and To " levels, so you may get treatment in one place but not another? Thanks so much all, Lloyd
