Hello,

I have just been advised by the specialist nurse I'm seeing at St ' to

diminish my 20mg consumption of Carbimazole to 10mg. The catch is my GP is away

for the week and I know that despite my call the surgery will be very slow at

passing on my request for a new prescription to the duty doctor, being Friday I

won't be able to get it before next week.

Could I cut my carbimazole tablet in half or may be just take 20mg every other

day in the meantime? what do you think?

Thanks for your advice

Are they tablets or capsules?? (hypo so never needed them)

If they are tablets they will be fine to split. Opening capsules is

not a good idea

There should be no problem in cutting your tablet in half

. Do you have a good pill cutter?
