Guest guest
HI ALL A thought has struck me on the problem of joint pains that I am in much pain with. I bought a shower filter to get rid of chlorine in the water at the same time thinking it might help with pain in my bladder, and purchased on 15th July. I have just looked up what it is inside them, and it states COPPER AND ZINC ALLOY. Pain in my bladder has gone but pain in my joints are very bad and my hair is falling out more. Could COPPER AND ZINC ALLOY be more toxic to people with HYPOTHYROIDISM. Does anyone know if too much exposure to COPPER AND ZINC ALLOY be more likely to cause arthritic pain in ones joints. Guest guest
Hi Kathleen, Generally zinc levels are low in this country as there is little in the soil, but copper has been mined in various areas. Zinc is vital for thyroid and immune function, and when supplemented it should be taken 15:1 with copper. From that I would have thought that the possible addition of these to your water would have been for the good. you can do a quick check of zinc in the body by sucking a zinc gluconate tablet- if it only tastes chalky then levels are low, if a taste appears after 30secs then marginal, but it levels are high it is immediately sharply metallic. My OH and I eat the same food, so theoretically levels should be similar, but he is fine and unless I supplement continually I'm low. He does not have thyroid disease. > thyroid treatment > From: kranger1@...> Date: Sun, 3 Oct 2010 18:17:29 +0000> Subject: Thyroid and shower filters> > HI ALL> A thought has struck me on the problem of joint pains that I am in much pain with.
