Mine is just Liothyronine (T3) made by Goldshield - it doesn't have a brand name

anymore.

Thanks everyone, picked it up today, Liothyronine 20micrograms, I have been

told to reduce my Thyroxine to 100mcg (from 150mcg) and take half a tablet of

the T3 twice a day.

I am sure there was talk in the group of stopping the Thyroxine when starting

T3. Any advice will be appreaciated.

No I didn't take anything for adrenals, I had planned to see Dr P

months ago at his Aberdeen Clinic, he was unwell and the clinic was

cancelled, have only now realised that he takes telephone

appointments.

Cortisol Levels:

Sample 1 – 08.00 4.0 (Ref Range 12-22)

Sample 2 - 13.15 4.2 (Ref Range 5-9)

Sample 3 - 18.30 2.4 (Ref Range 3-7)

Sample 4 – 23.20 1.4 (Ref Range 1-3)

Total Daily Cortisol 12.0 (Ref Range 21-41)

DHEA Levels:

Sample 2am 0.86 ( Ref Range 0.2-0.6)

Sample 3pm 0.44 ( Ref Range 0.2-0.6)

DHEA : Cortisol Ratio 5.42 (Ref Range 0.6 -3.0)

Adrenal Stress Type: Adrenal Fatigue - Non-adapted response. This

generally indicates falling levels of both cortisol and DHEA from

excessive stimulation/secretion over long periods of time. It can also

reflect the effects of exogenous use of DHEA supplementation.

Have took the big step today, I have stopped the T4 and I took 1 tab

(20mcg) of T3 in 4 doses - the pill is so tiny but have a 'pillmate'

that cuts it beautifully.

I only have 28 tablets of T3, as Endo wants a blood test done in 4

weeks time, did you have time to look at the results of my adrenal

profile, I have a gut feeling that I should be taking something to

support them, I have info over-load at the moment and don't know which

way to turn ?

Babs,

I've just had a look at your adrenal results! Not very sure that taking t3 is

a good idea with those results, the best thing you could do would be to get

the adrenals in some sort of order first as T3 stresses them and yours really

don't need any more stress.

The rule is adrenals first and then thyroid.

You really ought to be taking at least Nutri adrenal extra for the adrenals, I

would make this my priority rather that the thyroid meds. They actually look

bad enough to me to consider hydrocortisone, or asking the doctor for a short

synathcen test to rule out addisons. (this has to be done BEFORE you take any

NAX or HC)

Are you tracking temperature 3 times a day? this is how you will tell if you

have adrenal or thyroid problems, or both. See http://www.drrind.com for how

Hi,

Sorry haven't had time to switch on the computer, thanks for all the advice.

Will order Nutri tomorrow and start afresh .. will check the site for DHEA,

thanks Sheila.

Felt fine for the first few days of T3 only, but today I am a bit shaky.
