Guest guest
Hi all. I stopped T4 last Thursday following my appt with Dr P. I have ordered Armour and am following his instructions (stop for 10 days, then introduce adrenal support, then start Armour after 2 weeks). I am really aching and very cold despite being in a warm house. I woke in the night with palpatations and feeling uneasy and a bit sick. Dr P said if I felt unwell to restart the T4 (I was taking 100mcg for many years and have recenty started 10mcg T3 which I am still taking). How long should I persevere? Is it normal to feel like this so soon after stopping T4? Many thanks.

Guest guest
Hi Alison, you don't stop your thyroxine for 10 days and then add your adrenal support. You can stop your T4 one day and start the adrenal support the next, and then start the natural thyroid hormone replacement in 7 to 10 days. You should be stopping ALL thyroid hormone (including T3) before you introduce adrenal support, because as the adrenals start to function better, if taking thyroid hormone at the same time, this could cause the thyroid hormone to 'dump' in your cells giving you the unpleasant symptoms of hyPERthyroidism. This is probably why you are now getting palpitations and feeling uneasy. You need to stop your T3 as well as T4 and try to stick with that for the following week. I am sure you will find that you feel much better and the palps and uneasiness should stop. Luv - Sheila Hi all. I stopped T4 last Thursday following my appt with Dr P.
