Guest guest
Hi Donna, Cynomel is also synthetic. It may have different fillers to the uk liothyronine, but is generally reckoned to be stronger. I Have both types and mix them up so I never know which I've had. I take half a pill at a time, How were you measuring 44 mcg out of interest... they are 25 mcg pills. The uk pills are 20 mcg.... If you were taking 2 cynomel, then perhaps 3 liothyronine will be the equivalent? . > > I was taking 44mcg Cynomel (from Mexico) but as i cant afford to keep buying it i decided i would try Liothyronine Sodium prescribed on the NHS... > Am I getting these symptoms because Liothyronine Sodium is synthetic ??? Which is the best T3 product to take ? I didnt feel this bad on cynomel >
Guest guest
Dear Donna, the symptoms you are describing whilst taking Liothyronine shows that your body is unable to take that particular dose, probably because your adrenals are pooped and unable to secrete the amount of cortisol needed to help the T3 get into the cells. You need to start boosting them with a product such as Nutri Adrenal Extra. Why not try cutting down your T3 by 10mcgs for a couple of days to see whether you feel any better. T3 has a very short half life of about 2 days in humans. Also, do you take your dose at one dose or do you split the dose throughout the day. T3 peaks in the blood between 2 to 4 hours and you need to avoid the high peak in the blood caused by taking it all at one dose. Take half your dose when you wake and the other half about 6 to 8 hours later and see if that helps. You can get your adrenals tested by Genova Diagnostics to see how much cortisol and DHEA your adrenals are secreting at four specific times during the day and TPA members can get a discount by quoting Thyroid Patient Advocacy as your Practitioner. You can also get 33% discount from Nutri Ltd on adrenal/thyroid/candida supplements. Information about these in our FILES section. Luv - Sheila I have a conversion block and therefore have to take T3 only. ( I have no thyroid removed due to thyroid cancer). I was taking 44mcg Cynomel (from Mexico) but as i cant afford to keep buying it i decided i would try Liothyronine Sodium prescribed on the NHS... I started taking Liothyronine Sodium 2 days ago and i am taking near enough the same dose as Cynomel but already in this short space of time I feel fatigued, aches and pains have returned and i feel so spaced out (all the symptoms i had whilst taking Levothyroxine years ago). Am I getting these symptoms because Liothyronine Sodium is synthetic ??? Which is the best T3 product to take ? I didnt feel this bad on cynomel
