Hi Stacey,

Thank you SO much for taking the time to reply and writing such an encouraging email!

Its so great to know that the NHS can't refuse to treat me because i was really scared of this.

Yes I've been thinking a lot about changing GP's the only problem is I have been labelled a 'problem patient' as i've gone back and back with every symptom under the sun (the ones that come from untreated thyroid and adrenals) and I think they think I'm a hypochondriac and I worry no other surgery will accept me.

I've just started with dr.p and really this will get me better!

Thank you also for the tip about the medi alert bracelet-thats a fantastic idea

Thank you thank you thank you

Josie

Hi Josie,First of all you are entitled to equal access to medical care in this country as a UK citizen and this is what your taxes etc pay towards - they - the NHS have a duty of care to you.Second I would find another GP if you cannot resolve the issues yo uhave with this GP who clearly has no bedside manner and is probably using your young age to scare you. Finally get a medi alert bracelet or pendant and put the details of meds you are on in that - then if you should ever be admitted to hospital and are not in a state to tell them - they will see what they need to give you.The question is - do you feel in any way better since you have been to see Dr P and are now taking meds that may help? I suspect that you will be if not now but eventually. If that is the case then you have the evidence to present to your GP that you are getting there and also will not grace his surgery as often!Good luckStacey>> > He's just started me on HC and am gradually building up to 25mg.> > > > What I'm really worried about is what if something happens whilst I'm on HC (i.e. need to go into hospital/surgery/accidents/ serious illness etc I understand that in those situations you need to take extra HC to help cope with the stress and also if you are unconscious or whatever the hospital would have to give you HC as you can't just stop it immediately.> > > > If the NHS find out I'm on HC when I don't have addisons they will hit the roof and It would get back to my GP> MOST OF OLD MESSAGE DELETED BY MODERATOR !!!!!!!c'MON YOU KNOW THE RULES......
