Guest guest
Hi, I am due to go to the dentist for a check up soon and somewhere in the haze I remember reading about the injections that give when they do fillings. To be careful if you are on thyroid meds? I seem to be really sensitive anyway - I used to have sedation in the old days until they stopped it. Sometimes I have to have more than the one injection to actively numb the area - which has peed off some dentists when they cannot understand why the 1st and 2nd has not done the job? Any ideas ? PS - Hope you all had a fab time in Brum - I was thinking of you all! Stacey
Guest guest
Hi Stacey, The problem isn't really thyroid- it's adrenal and the problem is with adrenalin in the anaesthetic that is used to reduce bleeding at the injection site and keep the numb in place longer. A non adrenalin version is available for those with adrenal issues, but does not work so effectively or for so long.
