Guest guest
If only that was true My Husband started with classic Graves Disease and looked exactly like the ghastly picture in Bayliss's book that was all the info there was back in 1970 It took 6 months of hellish symptoms before he was diagnosed and many more years of hell on Carbimazole , then surgury and more hell .............another 6 yrs of sheer hell into Myxodeama madness yet with a TSH of 2,9 and free T4 of 19 ( idiots ignored the swedish research on post Graves /thyroidectomy patients ) add on another 12 years of hell on Thyroxine and Prozac until finally he has been on Armour for 3 years In actuallity he had Graves and Hashimotos running in tandem but they failed to diagnose that and we still dont know where in the family it came from but now our younger daughter has Hashis too and eldest daughters coeliac little girl also has Hashis antibodies Husband and daughter still havre Fibromyalgia and all the damage done from the outset of this god awful disease I know far more men with Thyroid Disease than women since there are 4 men in our village alone but neither gender get any more consideration from the medical profession let alone full recognition of their suffering Pat
