Switching to Armour

Hello Folks,

I would be grateful for some advice. Due to not responding well to T3 and T4, I was advised to change to Armour thyroid in the hope that I would get on better with it. I have now been on Armour for 9 days - and I am getting worse. I didn't feel good before, but am just going down-hill. Just typing this is a major effort. Is this normal when switching from synthetic to Armour? If so, how long until things start to pick up?

Hi Hazel, you will have heard this a lot of times before and you

will hear it a lot of times since. No amount of thyroid hormone replacement,

not synthetic T4 alone, synthetic T4/T3 combination, T3 alone or natural

thyroid extract is going to help you one bit if you are suffering with any of

the associated conditions. See the attached document, and go through each of

these possibilities as a process of elimination. This must not be 'guess work'

if there is a possibility, you need to get the adrenal and candida tests done

privately through Genova and ask your GP to test your levels of ferritin,

vitamin B12, vitamin D3, magnesium, folate, copper and zinc, and post the

results together with the reference ranges here on the forum so we can help

with the interpretation.
