Guest guest
HI, My name is and I have two children. 4yr.(totally vaccinated) and Clay..11mos and NOT vaccinated. I basically consider myself this way...We are a cloth diper'in,breastfeed'in,sling'in,family bedd'in,non-circ'in and non-vaccinat'in family. My daughter will be entering kindergarden next year and I DON"T want to vaccinate her anymore...she will hopefully be going to a private kindergarden school verses public...this is my dilemma...I just read this:"If the parents are "bona fide members of a recognized religious organization whose teachings/tenets are contrary to the practices herein required." "no certificate shall be required." NYPHL §2164.9. The Legislature has established the test of membership in a religious organization whose teachings are contrary to the immunization required by this section, rather than a personal belief in such teachings, in order to secure an exemption. Op. Commissioner Educ. Dept., 1972 12 Educ. Dept. Rep. 56. Where parents held bona fide religious beliefs prohibiting vaccination and immunization, child would not be required to be vaccinated or immunized in order to attend school and neglect petition filed on basis of parents failure to obtain such immunization, would be dismissed. In re R. 1975, 81 Misc.2d 286, 366 NYS 2d 309" I do belong to a church, but it is not part of our religon to not vaccinate....I didn't see a personal exemption for New York..Did I miss it..miss read?? What do I DOOO??? I WILL homeschool before vaccinate her..I fear I have done to much already. THanks
