has been a social worker for thirty-one years.

has done post graduate work in family therapy with a

specialization in chronic illness at The Chicago Center for Family

Health, the affiliate program at The University of Chicago. The

bulk of 's experience has been in special education.

was employed by Northern Suburban Special Education District

for twenty years, and this is her seventh year as a school social

worker in District #15 in Palatine. Her caseload for the past seven

years and in many years past has been exclusively children with

autism spectrum disorders and their families but she has extensive

experience across disabilities and age groups.

In 's current position she focuses on social skills within the

classroom at the pre-school, elementary school, intermediate and

junior high school levels. She is responsible for parent education

and parent support groups for all of the above classrooms as well as

doing assessments, consultations, interventions and program

development.

is actively involved in teaching social work students and

presenting at conferences. She is a member of her professional

organization as well as several autism groups, including her

position as an officer for ASI. She maintains a small private

practice in her spare time. She and her husband live on the north

side of Chicago. Their son is a student at the University of

Illinois, Champaign/Urbana.

Again, we are excited to have as our Guest Expert this coming

holiday season. We look forward to hosting this special event and

helping to make everyone's holiday fun and very special.
