Guest guest
Don't say why didn't you seek advice from a Cll specialist? Answer: There are none on my Medicare Disadvantage Health Plan, People's Health. After 5 months of spinning my wheels, and with a diagnosis of Diffuse Large B Cell lymphoma a few months ago, my Primary Care stepped up to help by writing a request for a referral to MDA which was approved yesterday. (My Heme/Onc's request a month earlier was denied.) For the last 4 months, I have copied the references and other material some of you have sent and passed it on to my Heme/Onc. I am very gratful to everyone who shared info on diagnosing Richters. Now it's time to let the docs at MD have a shot at it. The ACOR list shows the following Cll specialists at MDA: Keating, Lerner, O'Brien, Andreeff and Wierda. My only experience is with O'Brien in 05. Besides the copies of the tests, she said " You will have good days and bad days. " It seemed the appt. was over in 5 minutes. I distinctly felt she had no time for discussion. I heard many of you speak of the chief, Dr. Keating, and also Dr. Wierda. If any one can share their experiences with Dr. Keating and Dr. Wierda, please reply to " sender " Thanks, Marilyn Barbera
