Guest guest
Hello again, I have not visited for a while, but have spent the afternoon catching up on all of the posts. My daughter (age 21 with pdd) has not only stopped going to school but also refuses to leave the house. She gets hysterical and self injurious at the mere idea of going to the grocery store for a loaf of bread (today). A response to my previous post concerning her school phobia (about a month ago) was to try to find out about any particular trauma at school. I have been talking to the teachers and it seems that nothing particularly out of the ordinary occured, just that her behavior had been deteriorating for about a month prior to wanting to quit school. Even with adjustments in her medications (for seizures and emotional health), she is still not willing to leave the home for any reason. I have had to cancel many Dr. appointments and just running out of ideas to get her out. is in the public school system until the end of this school year. The only option the school is able to provide is 2 hours of in home schooling per week. I am told by the director of special ed that the rule is 1 hour per academic class, which in 's case would be English and Community Based Math. I will have a meeting next week and 's teacher will come by for a home visit later this week. Any suggestions from any of you? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
Eva, Did 's refusal to leave the house begin with the colder weather? Does she have sensitivity to having to where cold weather clothing - long sleeves, clothing around the neck?
