Guest guest
On Tuesday, 12/12/00, the Chicago SunTImes, the city's largest newspapers wrote on the editorial page that" but in our nation, as long as their behaviors dont affect others, people deserve a choice in medical matters." Bravo for the pro-choicers. The editorial was in reference to the recent hearings on the Chickenpox vaccine controversey here in Illinois. The editorial begins with "the larger issule here was parents rights to determine the best health care for their child. State health director Lumpkin is considering whether the chickenpox vaccine should be required for all schoolchildren. He should say 'no." Mandatory vaccinations should be required for more dangerous ailments." He goes on to cite stats for those who have received the chickenpox vaccine. "Of 10,000 vaccine recipients, 14 died and 271 suffered serious health problems after receiving the shots, which researchers have said other conditions likely contributed to these complications." ha-ha Anyway, its a win for us pro-choicers, when the media publicly speaks in favor of pro-choice. Hats off to all those parents who wrote letters and attended the hearings. Your voices are making a difference. Marvis
