Guest guest
Hello everyone, My son is fifteen years old and has grown facial hair for several years now, enough hair to require shaving for his comfort and appearance. Unfortunately, he has neither the fine motor skills nor the understanding to perform daily shaving. This task has been assumed by either his father or caretaker - not any easy task for those of us with ageing eyes! I have a related grooming question: does anyone use or know of a hairstylist/barber who has the patience and understanding to cut my son's hair? ( My son is non-verbal and is in a wheelchair.) I am also hoping to find a stylist who works in a quiet, low-traffic shop in the vicinity of Northbrook. I would appreciate any input. I hope that everyone entered the new year with optimism and in good spirits. Barbara
Guest guest
Hi Barbara: I have a GREAT salon...not just good. Almost every person there is fantastic with our kids. The name of the salon is Philip and it is located on in a strip mall across the street from the Dominicks at and Dundee. Phil is the owner and he is very supportive. is who I go to with Noah (my husband and I also use her). She has been cutting his hair for over ten years. I have sent many other families with special needs children there. works on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. If that doesn't work, Sue is also outstanding. and Sue would be my first choices. would be an excellent third choice. I have sent them very challenging children with autism and they have also worked with children and young adults in wheel chairs and everything else you can imagine. The phone number is 480-styl. They can be busy on Saturday but the rest of the week is not too bad...but do not hesitate to go at any time. They will take good care of him. Definitely mention my name. When you call ask to speak to if those days work for you and make your appointment directly with her. Ellen Ellen Garber Bronfeldegskb@...
