Larry,

I know the author's name, but only indirectly. He is mentioned in a very

positive light in a book called Asthma Epidemic written by my allergist, Dr.

Mansfield.

Is the full title of the book Relief at Last: Neutralization for Food

Allergy and Other Illnesses, co. 1987?

According to Mansfield's book Dr. ph was one of the pioneers of

provocative intradermal neutralization and his books were read extensively

by other allergists interested in this method. Although I haven't read this

book, from what I read about Dr. I'm certain that it is well worth

reading.

The American Academy of Environmental Medicine is an organization of doctors

who treat allergies using neutralization therapy, their website is

http://www.aaem.com This approach has helped me and many other people I

have met and I definitely recommend it. When it got to the point where I was

allergic to everything I ate the advice from the typical allergist to avoid

offending foods and take antihistamines when needed didn't help me get

better.

If you have a lot of allergies chances are that you have an intestinal

candida infection as well. This is an issue I'm dealing with by taking

stabilized oxygen in water, the effects of which are basically similar to

ingesting hydrogen peroxide. After 2-3 months on this I have more energy

than I've had in a couple years and my eczema has largely cleared up as

well.

Mercury amalgam dental fillings can make a candida infection worse and cause

a whole host of problems in themselves, I'm still detoxing the mercury from

the fillings I had removed 6 months ago.

I have been to Mansfield's clinic twice and would be happy to tell you about

my experiences if you email me privately.

Can you add coconut oil and cocoabutter to m and p base? Why did mine

separate when I put it in the freezer?

Thanks, Misha

Misha...did you JUST add it, stir a bit, then pour?? You have to make sure

you STIR STIR STIR until your arm is about to fall off - then pour *S* you

really have to make sure its mixed in properly before you pour or you will

either get seperation, or sweating. And definatly add only a tsp or two not

cups *L* (but.......as 'they' say..if you don't make mistakes...how will you

Hey Dodie,

The salad listed in the food mover is the deluxe garden salad and that one

probably had cheese or croutons etc. on it since it is 110 calories with 7

grams of fat. The regular side salad is only 60 calories with 4 grams of

fat. Have a great week!

Did the salad have cheese on it??????? That might be where the fat comes from!

Sheesh! That is awful! You'll show them by quietly dropping pounds without

saying a word. We'll help you do it with support, not recommending surgery!

Finally ! Someone else can see why this is so discouraging. My

father wants me to have the surgery, my mother does not and the

whole family thinks it's worthy of discussion. I hope I don't fail

again. But I've never had a group to help me that was my size

before. Usually all my friends are skinny and are trying some

wierdo diet to lose five pounds for some kind of event. They just

have no understanding of the scope of what I'm trying to do. I figure

it'll take at least three years to lose and a lifetime to maintain.

It may take a lot longer than three years. My first goal is to break

300. My next one is to break 250. Wow. I look a those numbers and

it seems incredible. Dodie

Dodie - you can do this. Slow but sure is the way to go. Sorry about the

entire family discussion situation - maybe you just need to tell them all

thanks - but there is no need for a discussion. Sometimes our loved ones get

carried away don't they!

But we are all here for you and know exactly what you are going through!

Yes, it really can be overwhelming. Argh! Oh well. We just have to take

it one bite, day and pound at a time. I've lost 29 pounds which I'm very

happy about but it is still kind of demoralizing that I'm still more than

100 pounds overweight by society's standards. Of course my goal is my

standard, not society's but it can still be frustrating to lose so much and

still have so much more to go. I know it's even tougher for those that have

more to lose. Let's stick together and get there slowly and healthy.

I hate to ask, but is there anyone in this group close to my size?

I would love it if I could fit easily into a plane seat or movie

theater seat. The handles really dig into your side. Also, I was

trying to find frozen dinners (for crazy days when there's no way I

can stand to cook) and couldn't find exchanges on the sides of the

packages for anything but Healthy Choice. Is there any other brand

that carries exchanges on the box? :) Dodie

Dodie - 7 months ago I was 311 and going through the same thoughts as you.

First 300, then 250, it was daunting and I never, ever thought it would happen!

But it did! 300 came and went that felt great. 250 came - had to work very

hard to achieve that one - but it came. Now I am looking at 225 and struggling

to get there! But it is all relative. I just keep working at it and know that

as long as I am doing what I am suppose to - it will happen!

Not fitting in plane seats? Having to go into the handicap stall in bathrooms to

fit? Turning sideways in restraunt booths - asking for tables? Not fitting in

movie theater chairs? Gasping for air? Hurting? Yup those are all part of my

life - a bit in the past right now - but still there in lots of respects.

Don't worry about it - you can do this!

Now about those TV dinners. I have used them a lot as they are simple for a

single person like me to use. I never eat the deserts, a waste of calories. So

what I do is to then look at what is left, meat, starches, veggies, look at the

calories (I do not subtract for the deserts I don't eat), and then using the

calories for proteins, starches, I estimate what windows to close. Hope that

makes some sense to you. Some of the stuff I will actually measure, like the

piece of fish, etc., to get an idea of its weight.

As Emeril says - this ain't rocket science here! (hehee) I just go with a best

estimate - and error on the side of counting more than less. And so far its

worked for me.

Hope this helps some.

I never do frozen dinners because I have a severe dairy allergy.

On the weekend, I often cook up something that's flexible enough

for me to eat it all week with just the addition of a different

type of sauce on it. Sometimes I cook up a pound of spiral pasta,

add 1 or 2 pounds of frozen broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots,

and a couple of pounds of boneless chicken breast or short-cuts

pre-cooked chicken. sometimes I replace the pasta with couscous

and sometimes I add water chestnuts. When it's all cooked, I just

put it in the fridge. The pasta mixture can be eaten cold with a

bit of Italian dressing, hot with just a bit of lite salt,

" stir-fried " with Thai peanut sauce or sweet & sour sauce....

whatever. There's always something healthy to eat without having

to cook. If there's some left towards the end of the week, you

can always portion it up and freeze it!

Hello,

This morning I read of a device that creates a vibration in the shoes, to

help certain people be aware of their balance. If the same device could be

calibrated to SMR or whatever, it would have a new use. Maybe a vibrating

baseball cap, or a vibrating wallet would allow a person to take his

entrainment with him.

Thanks,

Dear Gene;

Pillows, cushions and mattress that vibrate to induce an alpha or

even delta rythm, are widely spread, and you can find them through

any internet search motor. The mattress does relax and help you

sleep. Some months ago I considered the idea of buying a pillow that

would generate an alpha rhythm, because I would place my parietals

and occipitals right over it, and that would help me produce alpha

right where I needed it. Finally I came up with a cheaper

entrainment solution that allowed me to place alpha right there, and

I don't need to carry my pillow around to do it. If you or anyone

is

interested, please e-mail me back-channel.

I didn't realize that finished Kombucha can be stored in regular plastic

bottles. I thought it had to be in glass at all times even after the 7 days.

This website shows Kombucha in what looks like regular bottled water bottles

Like Evian, Crystal, Zephyrhills, AquaFina, you get the picture. This would

be wonderful for me because I reuse the bottles and fill them with my Brita

filtered water. ~Let me Know Kombucha-Heads~

Very good article Matt, thanks for listing it. I have a friend who

has a patient who I would like to read this. Maybe I can get her to

start the KT, she has MS as well and is on shots to give her energy

and valium to calm her down. All by her physician! It makes me

sick!!!

Hey Group:

After my 1st auto accident in 1973 (none were my fault), I have ran the gamut

of pain medications from Aspirin & Tylenol Darvon/Darvocet/Empirin. Loracet,

Fiorcet, Tylox etc.; to Tramadol, Vicodin, Percocet, Percodan, Fentalyn Patches

(sp) Tylenol # 3 & 4s, to Demerol, Morphine Sulfate, MS Contin, Oxycodone,

Oxycontin for minor to maximum~~acute/chronic pain management. (Note: All these

medications are 'so-called cousins' with only different name-brand/generic

combinations~per Director of Nurses--major metropolitan hospital PM center).

Over the past 30+ years, I have been up the ladder and back down with my

surgery's and the Doctor's 'experimenting' to manage my pain. I have taken

Aspirin/Xtra strength Tylenol ~~ I have taken Oxycontin 80-120 m.g. when I was

bone on bone--working full-time before my 1st total hip replacement; down to

'no' pain medication at all. The Doctors, for the most part; go with the flow of

what the government's experiencing at the time. In 2004 with the DEA

investigations, arrests of PCPs; who gave Oxycontin to patients for 'headaches';

(I was given Imitrex for Migraines). During that time I went to my PCP for my

monthly refill, he gave me the article from the local newspaper & USA Today, a

2-week supply, and told me to find another Doctor. I eventually spent over a

year in ERs for pain shots, and finally got a PM Doctor who started me at the

bottom of the ladder and worked up again but in 2005; my pain is finally

managed.

This is my 2-cents (FYI) only~~From my past 30+ year PAIN experience, I know

that Acetaminophen is NO good for the Liver. The recommended daily dosage over

time for pain management is too much. In combination with our 'gold'~Gleevec,

both are processed by the Liver;and Aspirin aggravates/causes Ulcers over time.

I cannot stress enough that each of us is an individual, therefore the

medications will affect our major organs differently. Please get copies of all

your FISH/PCR Tests and monitor your Liver & Kidney Function Test variables

every 6 months if you are taking Acetaminophen and/or Aspirin combinations for

Pain Management over time.

Note: (The information on Acetaminophen & Aspirin became available within the

past 2-5 years. I was told by an Ortho Surgeon in the early '90s to monitor the

amount of Acetaminophen I ingested over time; due to long-term effects on

Liver/Spleen/Major Organs~~I have Ulcers and my Liver's ruined.

Take care, all are in my prayers.
