I thought this was quite interesting. Unless I'm misunderstanding

this graph, it appears that there's a higher incidence of CML among

black men and women than there is among whites.

Then when you look at the expanded graphs, it shows that American

Indians (I assume this means Natives), Hispanics, and Asians have a

much higher incidence than even Black Americans. The jump in

incidence rates for Asians, Hispanics and Natives, seems to only be in

the last couple of years though which I find peculiar.

Terry, I am too, 1/2 Cherokee. What tribe are you?

Sometimes in early incidence and prevalance data reporting you will see a

spike because of increased diagnostic and reporting. So I'm wondering if that

might be what's happening. Usually " we " get tossed in with " minorities " and it's

unusal to see this kind of data on American Indians. By the way I've sent it to

the epidemiologist of our tribe to see what he knows about this. I'll keep you

posted.

Hi Margaret, and Matt,

I am half Sioux and half Irish. I always joke I am not sure if I should

chase Leprechauns or dance around a fire..hehehe. The great thing about it

is I have little body hair, but the hair on my head grows very fast, I have

it back below my shoulders again. It really ticks off my half brother

because he is only 28 and is loosing his hair, while mine grows like a weed.

My Indian blood comes from my father. Take Care,

Terry

Question? When you chose to cut your hair do you donate it

to " Locks of Love " ? I think it is a great effort to provide natural

hair wigs for those suffering the effects of radiation treatments,

especially the young and teens.
