Re: [ ] Upcoming activities for the CML Society of Canada

Zavie,

No doubt you read the other message that states we have changed our

meeting date. We haven't selected a new date, when we do we will be

happy to advise everyone.

Perhaps you should talk to Robin Markowitz at the LLS, when I

realized she had chosen Rosh Hoshanah as the date for the first ever

LTN event in Montreal, she explained that since she nearly completed

her masters degree in Jewish studies, she felt qualified to tell me

that she didn't see anything wrong with having the event on this

date. She explained that in fact doing a " charitable " act on that

day was considered a good thing. That was the reason we went along

with it in the first place and agreed to hold our meeting around that

date. After speaking with Dr. Lipton, who as you know is the VP

Medical advisory to the CML Society, we thought it best to change the

date.

We can't change the date that the LLS chose - not Bristol Myers

Squibb nor the CML Society - but the CML Society can change the date

of our patient advisory board meeting. When we know the new date,

we'll certainly keep you and everyone else informed.

It is unfortunate that the date the LLS chose for their event

conflicts with an important event of the Jewish calendar. I

personally am less enthusiastic about participating in the event than

I ever was.

Cheers,

Cheryl-Anne
