Guest guest
Here is an interesting post, from a lucky guy. Anyone have a response? Hi ,I have a question for you. I was diagnosed with Sll/Cll early in 1999, had several courses of chemo at MD Cancer Center in Houston. These were effective, but they did not get my cancer into remission. I was then given various options, one of them (the most radical) an allogeneic stem cell transplantation. I chose to go this route and after resolving some difficulties with the insurance company (this was, after all, a Phase II Clinical Trial) and identifying a donor (fortunately, one of my brothers matched) I was transplanted in Dec. 2000. I'm now 68, all is well, and my cancer continues in remission--so much so that my doctors decided to forego any more CT Scans and Bone Marrow Biopsies this year--in other words, just an annual blood draw. And now the question: Is this a treatment now commonly used for Sll/Cll? And if not, why not? Also, do you have any statistics of this treatment for SLL/Cll? Ulrich Goebel (uodilric@...)
