Guest guest
Just a reminder. The flyers are not available yet, but the Will County Transition to Adulthood fair will be April 21, 8am to1(subject to revision) at Joliet Junior College. There will be a Transportation section, with a rep from PACE, then individuals to talk about DuPage curb to curb and the new Kane County initiative. If you have individuals who will not be able to drive, you need to attend these and learn what we have to do to get transportation improved in Will County. There is an initiative at PACE to improve services and comment cards will be available. Also, Emmett, a leading vocational counselor who has worked with Walgreens and others to improve employment for disabilities, will do 2 sections for those who want to learn how to improve employment for those with disabilities. One will be on creating a portfolio to show what the individual has done that might not be represented on a resume. The second will be on how to approach businesses to employ individuals with disablities. There will also be reps from local agencies, residential homes, colleges, recreatinal districts, and more. As soon as the official handouts are available I will get them out to you, but please mark your calendars and pass the word on.
